TMCNet InfoTech on the “Consumerization of IT”

October 24, 2011

Mae Kowalke of TMCNet InfoTech highlights how DoubleDutch takes the “consumerization of IT” seriously. She specifically covers two DoubleDutch products – HYVE Sales and HYVE Events and includes a video interview with Lawrence.

From the article:

This trend is opening up opportunities for companies like DoubleDutch, an enterprise software development firm that’s betting heavily on the consumerization of IT. Its goal: apply social networking concepts to address specific work-related problems.

HYVE Sales, launched this year, is a good example. Essentially, it’s a location-aware mobile app that provides an innovative user interface (UI) for accessing corporate customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

DoubleDutch powers Chicago Ideas Week

100 speakers. 7 days. 1 electrified city.

That’s the tagline for the first annual Chicago Ideas Week. From October 10th through the 16th, DoubleDutch will be powering the Chicago Ideas Week (CIW) mobile app.

CIW attendees can download the app for their smartphone. The app runs natively on iPhone, and Android — plus there is an HTML5 version as well.

NBC Chicago has already showcased the app and DoubleDutch in “Tapping into Chicago Ideas Week on your Smartphone.

NOTE: If you are a registered CIW attendee, please check your email for log-in credentials.

Download the app here: http://ddut.ch/ciw

Chicago Ideas is the official mobile app of the Chicago Ideas Week community. Use it to:

  • Find event descriptions, location, and other agenda information
  • Add specific agenda items to your Favorites list for easy access
  • Check-in to all CIW events and speakers
  • Push out check-ins to social media channels
  • Connect with and message other participants
  • Share your location
  • Learn about the speakers and sponsors
  • Earn points and badges

The likes of Bill Clinton and 2 DoubleDutchers – Lawrence (CEO) and Aaron (Project Manager) – will be in attendance. Lawrence and Aaron will be around to promote the app, troubleshoot app issues, and attend some events (there are some really neat events to check out). I have a feeling you will also be able to find them at the Weezer concert. It’s just a feeling.

The CIW event is meant to “bring the world’s top speakers together with Chicago’s best thinkers to create an ecosystem of innovation, exploration, and intellectual recreation.” This is all being facilitated through our HYVE Events app, which makes it even better!

If you are in Chicago, go check out Chicago Ideas Week (and download the app).
